Catastrophic Event Protection
SurgeArrest components such as MOVs and Thermal fuse ensure instantaneous reaction to lightning strikes and wiring faults. If the surge components are damaged due to power spike or over voltage, excess power cannot reach your equipment. Unlike the APC SurgeArrest products, most surge suppressors continue to let power through even after circuits have been damaged, leaving your equipment exposed to other damaging surges.

Lightning and Surge Protection
When measured via ANSI/IEEE 587 Category ''A" and "B" tests, the suppression performance of the APC Smart-UPS is superior to virtually all separate surge suppressors.

Protection Working Indicator
SurgeArrest will warn you if its circuitry has been damaged by heavy strike or power line surge and it is unable to provide 100% protection. If still under warranty, APC will then replace your damaged SurgeArrest free of charge.

Status Indicator LED's
Dual Status Indicator - Alerts you to the unit's power status. Green indicates it's ready for use. The Red indicator signals the unit's shutdown to save your automobile battery from draining.

Status Indicator LEDs
LED status indicators for each phase and an audible alarm provide immediate failure notification when suppression circuitry has been damaged by a heavy strike or surge.

Chase nipple connection
Allows for mounting of the PM2X units rigidly to the side of your panelboard.

Noise Filtering
120kA SurgeArrest models contain EMI/RFI filtering to reduce line noise that can cause data loss and keyboard errors. 40kA and 80kA units do not contain noise filtering components, so they can be used with powerline networking systems (X10, HomePlug, PLC, etc.).
Maximum Surge Current Ratings
40kA, 80kA and 120kA per phase maximum surge current ratings, for all your residential, commercial and individual equipment protection needs.
Safety
Catastrophic Event Protection
SurgeArrest Panelmount SPDs are equipped with fuses and thermal disconnects that react quickly to protect against dangerous high and low current wiring faults as well as other catastrophic surge events. These panel-mount SPDs are passive, and continue to allow power through to your home or building if any of the surge components are damaged.
