There are some instances that the UPS may refuse to turn on even though it is plugged into the AC outlet. It could be that the UPS does not like the power it is getting. In this case, we can apply the Cold start procedure.

To perform a Cold Start on an APC by Schneider Electric Back-UPS, you may follow the procedure below:
  1. Disconnect any attached load.
  2. Make sure the battery is connected.
  3. Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
  4. Push and hold the ""On"" button on the UPS and let go before the second beep finishes.
  5. Plug the UPS into the wall outlet.

There are also some scenarios where the UPS is found unresponsive due to its battery charge being deeply drained and discharged and for some reason, it declines to turn on. With this being said, we can apply a Dry Start on the UPS.
