Issue:
Process for downloading and deploying the StruxureWare Data Center Expert Virtual Appliance.
Product Line:
StruxureWare Data Center Expert (DCE)
Environment:
StruxureWare Data Center Expert Virtual Appliance (all versions)
VMware ESXi
HyperV
Resolution:
1) Download the StruxureWare Data Center Expert Virtual Appliance Trial (AP94VMTRL) from www.apc.com.
2) Once the DCE Virtual Appliance is downloaded, it can be deployed within a VMware ESXi environment. As of Version 8.1, support for HyperV has been added.
3) Information on deploying the OVF file can be found at the VMware Documentation Center.
Note: Deploying OVA shows "Invalid Certificate" on vCenter 7.0U2, but shows "Trusted certificate" in older versions. https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/84240
4) It is highly recommended to add an additional hard disk to the virtual appliance. For instructions, see knowledge base Data Center Expert | Configuring Hardware Resources (RAM, CPU, Hard Disks, & Network Adapters) .
