Cause
Instructions are provided for users who wish to set their Console Port Server to factory defaults.
Resolution
To reset your Console Port Server to factory defaults, you must log in via Terminal/Telnet/SSH. Once logged in, type the following command:
Note: These steps will reset your Console Port Server to factory defaults. If you wish to save any configurations, you should download and save the appropriate file before performing this step.
On versions before 2.6.0
CPS>echo 0 > /proc/flash/script (press enter)
CPS>reboot (press enter)
CPS>reboot (press enter)
On versions 2.6.0 and above
CPS>echo 0 > /mnt/flash/script (press enter)
CPS>reboot (press enter).
The Console Port Server will reboot and reset to factory defaults. Once rebooted, you will be able to access the Console Port Server locally via a serial connection, via DHCP, or the default network connection. The default network IP address of the Console Port Server is 192.168.160.10. CPS>reboot (press enter).
