Why is the PowerChute Network Shutdown Plug-in not visible in vSphere HTML 5 web client
Issue:
Deploy PowerChute vSphere Web Client Plug-in to vSphere 6.7 and above, but the Plug-in is not available.
Product Line:
PowerChute Network Shutdown
Environment:
VMware vSphere 6.7 and above HTML 5 web client
Cause:
The PowerChute Plug-in requires Adobe Flash, and Flash is not available in vSphere 6.7, 7.x, 8.x HTML 5-based web client.
Solution:
With vSphere 6.7 open the vSphere 6.7 Flash based web client (Flex).
Note:
The Flash based wed client was discontinued when vSphere 7.x was released.
**The PowerChute vSphere Plug-in is not required for PowerChute to operate in terms of core functionality and providing graceful shutdown. The plug-in is simply a means of accessing the PowerChute UI from within the vSphere Client. PowerChute can be accessed by opening a browser tab and entering the IP address of the PowerChute client. Example https://192.168.10.10:6547. Once that has been done you can bookmark the page for easy access.
